It took me forever to finish this book because I couldnt get into it. The story line was a good concept, it was just TOO wordy...I dont need to read how he took his right hand and reached to grab the seat belt on his left and pulled it across his chest to fasten it in the buckle next to his right thigh...just say he fastened his seatbelt, Im pretty sure everyone knows the procedure for that OR he picked up the wrapped straw, tapped it on the table to rip the other end, pulled it out the wrapper and inserted it in the top where the designated area for a straw is, then taking a sip...just say he took a sip from the straw
Im sure reading all of that made you bored too...well it annoyed me a lot in this book, then it ENDED all of a sudden with a lot of loose ends...guess I got my money's worth for 99 cents...

Cat Mouse edition by Calvin Hecht Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
A great "little" book with a big impact. Couldn't put it down and wanted it to continue, those two things make for a great read. The characters felt real and the plot had some interesting twists that kept me hooked. Can hardly wait for the next work by this author!
I recently read this story on my and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well paced with a great conclusion. Looking forward to more from this author.
If someone is into "romance" type novels, this is a big hit. It was a fun escape and I was surprised at the content.
This novella was interesting from the start and kept me interested throughout the story. It is an easy read and can be done in a few sittings, unless you simply want to complete it in one sitting, which can be done. I am looking forward for the stories to continue if the author decides to go on with the developed story line.Cat & Mouse
Hecht's first piece in the novella universe immerses the audience into a first person experience right from the start. Vivid storytelling & lush environments draw you into the story, and plot hooks won't let you out.
A job well done and a fantastic read.

This was quick read about a guy whose marriage has gone sour due to his wife's affair. I thought the writing style could be improved because most of the book is written in the 3rd person.
I did like the characterizations and the twists in the story but didn't like the inconclusive ending. I thought too much of the ending was spent on the other character (who was a minor character early in the story) without us learning the fate of the major characters.
The first 90% was mostly filler that did nothing to further the plot. The important bits were buried under the trivial, not by intent but because of the sheer volume of trivial.
The last 10% was written differently from the rest as if the author was tired of his own minutiae. That is when the good writing began, finally bringing the tension and excitement that a mystery/chase story should have. I was starting to feel like my determination to make it to the end would be rewarded but just as I started to care about what would happen next, it ended abruptly.
